In years past, e-commerce giant Amazon has offered a significant discount for its Prime service to U.S. service members and veterans to mark Veterans Day. Unfortunately, the company is not offering a military-and-veterans-specific deal for Veterans Day 2023.
However, that doesn't mean the company won't mark the holiday with another major opportunity for savings -- and this time around, it isn't just for active-duty troops and vets.
Amazon Veterans Day Discount
From now through Veterans Day, online shoppers can get 20% or more off select items on Amazon, including clothing, shoes, bags and luggage, and even some stylish watches.
The Veterans Day deals, which cover more than 9,000 items from retailers from Casio to Samsonite, aren't easy to find on the Amazon site, but can be browsed here.

Now, let's be real: There aren't necessarily a ton of great items available on Amazon, and while 9,000 discounted items may seem like a lot, you may not end up coming away with something you truly value.
On the upside, there are a few diamonds in the rough that we found after browsing through thousands of deals that could add a little extra flair to your fit (when you're out of uniform, of course). Here's what we found.

Casio G-Shock GWM5610-1 ($99.33, down from $150)
The Casio G-Shock may be the unofficial watch of the Global War on Terror due to the line's legendary durability, but few digital watches have the same aesthetic as the original, iconic 1983 "square" layout. In a world of bulky and overbuilt wrist candy, the noble square of the GWM5610-1 comes with elegant utility and retro sensibility, enough to survive the travails of the battlefield while still catching an eye out on the town. A steal at any price, it's especially alluring at 33% off on Amazon -- while stocks last, that is.
Casio G-Shock AWG-M100A-1ACR ($106.83, down from $160)
OK, this is one of those bulky, overbuilt G-Shocks we were just complaining about, but for those seeking the extra security of an absolute unit of a wristwatch, this is an excellent deal. With a distinctive rugged design and laden with features, the AWG-M100A-1ACR is built tough to handle whatever the world throws at it.
Oakley Men's Fuel Cell Rectangular Sunglasses ($116, down from $150)
Oakleys were once the butt of a joke in the beloved 2001 war movie "Black Hawk Down," but the distinctive sunglasses and protective eyewear have become a fixture of real-life U.S. military bases around the world since its ballistic-rated M Frame 2.0 took off in tactical markets back in 2006. While these shades may not win any prizes for distinctiveness, they're certainly durable enough to make them a worthwhile investment.
