The Air Force has announced the winners of a service competition to showcase innovative ideas to top brass at the Air Force Association Winter symposium Feb. 28. Called Spark Tank, the competition is an annual opportunity to celebrate new ideas from airmen. This year, there were 320 submissions, and six finalist ideas were selected, according to an Air Force release. Finalist submissions include a respirator with an integrated camera, speaker/microphone to enhance communication, launcher overspray protectors to cover critical components during missile launcher inspections and maintenance and a fail-safe device for cargo parachute timer malfunctions.
