Former West Point football star, Army Ranger and current Pittsburgh Steeler Alejandro Villanueva visited Ramstein Air Base this past weekend with a USAA Salute to Service NFL Boot Camp.
The Boot Camps simulate the drills that prospective players run at NFL tryouts. USAA has hosted 22 of these events over the last five years, almost all of which have been hosted by NFL teams at their facilities. The Broncos, Buccaneers, Cardinals, Chargers, Redskins, Seahawks and Saints have all welcomed Salute to Service Boot Camps and there was a 2018 NFL Kickoff event at JB McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in New Jersey.
Ramstein marks the first time a Boot Camp has taken place overseas. There will be more events to be announced later this year. You can keep track of upcoming events at the NFL and USAA's Salute to Service website.

The event took place at Kaiserslautern High School Football Field, and drills included the 40-yard dash, vertical jump, 3-cone shuttle, receiving gauntlet, and the QB Arm Challenge.
Alejandro is a huge guy at 6'9," 320 lbs., so it's amazing to see the height he gets on his vertical jump. Check out his elevation and other images from the event below. All photos courtesy USAA.
